A New Sound, A New Anointing For A New Era In Gospel Music

As Detroit continues to birth new additions to existing musical genres, there is something special on the horizon, creating a monumental tribute to a rich anointing that is like no other. The sound? A rich mix of melody and overtones that creates an experience called Neo-Urbanism. The anointing? Falling thick on vessels that are willing to accept the responsibility set before them. The era? Only two words describe it: Levitical Praise.

A twenty-five (25) member praise and worship ensemble led by Pastor Alex Morris, Levitical Praise has grown and developed over time. In this hour, God has an in-depth task set before these servants through music, commanding a high degree of faith and sacrifice thatís not seen regularly. Although not easy, the task can be summed up in one word: Accountability. Accountability towards those they strive to touch and provide a message of healing; and souls who need Christ more than ever, our youth. From people who have lost their way to individuals with addictions of every kind, Levitical Praise has accepted the task of accountability for a world desperate to find their way back to Christ.

Born out of Detroitís New Testament Ministries under the watchful eyes of Pastors Alex and Connie Morris, Levitical Praise was raised as a massive call to a community in massive pain. It was clear that a stronger presence of God was needed in their daily lives. But who would labor for the call to be met was not clear. Laborers for this call would choose to carry the burden of violent praise and worship, intensifying an already crucial war on the enemy. A war which has taken casualties out from the top down. A war that would emancipate many who strongly answered the call, while seeking to rescue those who couldnít meet the call, issuing challenges that potentially kill and destroy the innocent and weak. All the while, knowing that God is providing a shield of protection, keeping his servants safe and secure from all harm.

Levitical Praise is a testimony for all that know falls will happen, but donít realize that change can too, especially for those who desperately seek God's face. Levitical Praise is symbolic for choices. Levitical Praise is the realization that mistakes donít define who we are. Levitical Praise is understanding that we can become the element we want to be, in Christ. Levitical Praise is the manifestation of being adamant about the choice between life and death.

With their debut project, "Who You Wit", Levitical Praise takes a look into decisions and experiences that everyone is faced with in their relationship with Christ. Complete with rock overtones that make the music a total live, high energy, experience, Levitical Praise reminds us of the need to carry Godís glory wherever we go, on our shoulders, up high in its rightful position.
